By adopting the simple method of engaging in devotional activities under the proper guidance of a spiritual master, anyone becomes eligible to be freed from material contamination.
The elevation occurs gradually but surely. In the beginning, the neophyte is trained under strict regulative principles. As they continue the process of hearing and chanting, their heart is purified, and they are elevated to the position of a madhyama-adhikārī, a second-class devotee. With steadfast practice, this regulated service transforms into spontaneous eagerness and love. Ultimately, this pure devotional service elevates the practitioner beyond the temporary celestial kingdoms. While those desiring heavenly elevation will ultimately be frustrated, the pure devotee is permanently elevated to Vaikuṇṭhaloka or the supreme abode of Kṛṣṇa, a position so exalted that it incites the envy of the demigods.
