Category:God's Followers
Theme Analysis
The philosophical essence of this category establishes the eternal relationship between the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His devoted followers. God is eternal, His instructions are eternal, and therefore, His followers are also eternal. In the spiritual world of Vaikuṇṭha, there is perfect oneness because the Lord is the supreme leader and all living entities are His obedient followers, free from the influences of time, ignorance, and passion. When the Lord descends to the material world, He is never alone; just as a king is accompanied by his ministers, the Lord is accompanied by His followers, the great sages and demigods. The highest perfection for a follower is to preach the mission of the Lord, as demonstrated by the followers of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, while simultaneously avoiding the desire for cheap adoration or a mundane following. Furthermore, the Vedic literatures explain that the Lord sometimes appears in specific incarnations, such as Lord Buddha or Lord Ṛṣabhadeva, to attract a specific class of followers. Even if these followers are not highly advanced in Vedic knowledge, the Lord compassionately devises means to elevate them. Ultimately, the Supreme Lord values His followers so highly that He declares the worship of His devotees to be greater than the direct worship of Himself.
- The Eternal Relationship: God, His instructions, and His followers are all eternal. In the spiritual kingdom, there is no competition for leadership; everyone is a joyful, obedient follower of the Supreme Lord.
- The Supreme Retinue: The Supreme Personality of Godhead is never alone. When He appears in the material world, He is always accompanied by His eternal followers, including demigods, sages, and personal associates.
- Pleasing the Lord through His Devotees: Lord Viṣṇu considers the satisfaction of His followers to be of utmost importance. In fact, the Lord declares that the worship of His devotees is superior to the worship of the Lord Himself.
- The Duty of Preaching: True followers of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu do not seek material opulence or a large number of mundane followers for personal prestige. Instead, they dedicate their lives to preaching actual Vedic knowledge to benefit all mankind.
- Followers of Specific Incarnations: The Lord sometimes appears as Lord Buddha or Lord Ṛṣabhadeva to guide specific populations. Authentic followers of these incarnations must strictly follow their original instructions, which are designed to gradually elevate them toward ultimate perfection.
