Theme Analysis
The philosophical essence of this category establishes that the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the original, ultimate source of all light in both the spiritual and material creations. The impersonal Brahman effulgence (brahmajyoti) is simply the light radiating from His eternal, transcendental body. Although the Lord is personally situated in His supreme abode (Vaikuṇṭha or Vṛndāvana), His brilliant light diffuses everywhere. In the spiritual world, there is no need for sun, moon, or electricity because this divine effulgence illuminates everything. In the material world, this same spiritual light is reflected through the sun and the moon. The conditioned souls, from the highest demigod like Lord Brahmā down to the insignificant ant, are all born into the darkness of material ignorance (māyā). Just as our physical eyes are useless without the light of the sun, our spiritual vision is completely blind without the descending light of the Supreme Lord and His pure devotees. By associating with authorized devotees and keeping the doors and windows of our minds open to their teachings, we can bask in the purifying sunshine of God's light, which instantly dissipates the darkness of illusion and grants ultimate spiritual realization.
- The Ultimate Source of Light: The Supreme Personality of Godhead is the personal source of the impersonal Brahman effulgence. Just as a fire diffuses heat and light, the Lord's transcendental body radiates the brahmajyoti.
- Illuminating Two Realms: Although the Lord remains in His personal abode, His light is distributed everywhere. It provides the natural illumination of the spiritual sky and serves as the original source of the reflected light of the sun and moon in the material universes.
- The Reflection in the Material World: The sun and moon do not generate light independently. The sun acts as the eye of the Lord, reflecting the spiritual light of the brahmajyoti to sustain the material creation.
- Dissipating Ignorance: Every living entity in the material world is born into darkness. Just as the rising sun naturally destroys the darkness of the night, the descending light of the Supreme Lord instantly dissipates the ignorance of māyā.
- Spiritual Vision: Physical eyes are useless without sunlight. Similarly, mental speculation cannot reveal God. The Absolute Truth can only be seen when the Lord mercifully provides His own divine light, often delivered through His empowered spiritual masters.
- Receiving the Light: Although God's light is distributed equally everywhere, it is appreciated differently depending on a person's receptivity. To experience this light, one must stop associating with nondevotees, open their heart to the message of Godhead, and bask in the association of pure devotees.

- Although He (God) is situated in His own abode, His light is distributed all over the spiritual and material worlds. The Brahma-samhita (BS 5.38) confirms this
- Although the light of the moon is the same everywhere, due to being differently appreciated it appears different. Similarly, the light of the Lord is equally distributed everywhere, but due to being differently received, it appears to be different
- Although the supreme light is situated in His (God's) personal abode, Vaikuntha or Vrndavana, His light is diffused not only in the spiritual world but beyond that
- Any living being, beginning from the Brahmas (there are innumerable Brahmas in innumerable universes) to the insignificant ant, are all born in darkness, and they require factual light from the Lord to see Him directly
- As the sun dissipates the darkness of the universe, so when the light of the Supreme Personality of Godhead comes down, it at once dissipates the darkness of maya
H
- His (God's) light is diffused not only in the spiritual world but beyond that. In the material world also, that light is reflected by the sun globe, and the sunlight is reflected by the moon globe
- His (God's) light is distributed in different ways, as the brahmajyoti, as sunlight and as moonlight. Bhagavad-gita confirms that in the spiritual world there is no need of sunlight, moonlight or electricity
I
- In the material world, the light of the sun is also not independent, nor is that of the moon. The real source of light is the brahmajyoti, which diffuses light from the transcendental body of the Lord, and the same light is reflected in varieties of light
- Instead of associating with nondevotees, if you associate with these devotees, then you get that sunshine, or the light and heat from Krsna. That is the process. Same way: if you somehow or other you go up the cloud, then you get this full sunshine

- The impersonalists say that God cannot be seen. God can be seen by the light of God and not by man-made speculations. Here this light is specifically mentioned as vidyat, which is an order by the Lord to Brahma
- The king (Kulasekhara) also addresses Him (Krsna) as Vrsni-vaḿsa-pradipa ("the brilliant light in the Vrsni dynasty") because millions of generations of the Vrsni dynasty became sanctified by the Lord's appearance within it
- The light (Brahman) has its variegatedness, which is seen by those who further advance in the light, and thus the ultimate realization of Brahman is the source of the Brahman light, the SPG, the summum bonum or the ultimate source of everything
- The sun works just like the eye of the Supreme Lord, and Brahma works just as the reflected light of the Supreme Lord
- The supreme feature of the Absolute Truth is personal - the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The impersonal Brahman is His effulgence, like the light diffused by a powerful fire
- This is false claim that brahma-bhutah means one becomes God. No. That means that you come to the light of God
- This liberation (from the darkness of ignorance in material existence) is not achieved by mental speculation, but by seeing the light emanating from the lustrous toenails of the Lord

- We have our eyes, but without the light of the sun our eyes are of no value. Similarly, without the light of the Supreme Lord, or without the divine grace of the spiritual master, one cannot see things as they are
- When the SPG or His confidential servants manifest themselves and preach the message of Godhead, we must not shut the doors and windows of our body and mind; otherwise, the light emanating from the Lord and His servants shall not enter into us
- While the elderly gopis go about their household affairs, Krsna and Balarama sometimes go into a dark room, brightening the place with the valuable jewels and ornaments on Their bodies and taking advantage of this light by stealing - SB 10.8.30
