Theme Analysis

Śrīla Prabhupāda establishes the absolute, transcendental reality of God's original form. While impersonalists falsely argue that the Absolute Truth loses its form when expanding into the universe, the Vedic conclusion (pūrṇam idaṁ) confirms that the Lord expands into unlimited forms (like Viṣṇu, Nārāyaṇa, and the virāṭ-rūpa) while eternally maintaining His original, two-armed form as Śrī Kṛṣṇa (sac-cid-ānanda-vigraha). Pure devotees are never fully satisfied by the majestic or universal expansions; they yearn only to serve and see God's original form. Furthermore, the Deity in the temple is non-different from this original form, mercifully appearing so that conditioned souls can worship the Lord with their current senses.

  • The Supreme Original Person: According to all Vedic literature, Śrī Kṛṣṇa is the original Supreme Personality of Godhead, from whom all other forms like Nārāyaṇa and Viṣṇu expand.
  • The Inexhaustible Nature: Unlike material energy, the Supreme Lord can expand into infinite forms and universes without ever losing His original, personal form.
  • The Object of Pure Devotion: Unalloyed devotees are not attracted to the impersonal Brahman or the fearsome universal form; they solely desire to serve Kṛṣṇa in His original, blissful feature.
  • The Non-different Deity Form: Because conditioned souls cannot see spirit with material eyes, the Lord mercifully appears as the arca-vigraha in the temple, which is absolutely identical to His original form.
