The material world is a flawless arrangement designed by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who acts as the ultimate provider for all living entities. According to Śrīla Prabhupāda, God has given humanity everything required for a peaceful and progressive life. He has given sufficient land to grow food, along with abundant fruits, grains, milk, and water. Therefore, the artificial problems created by modern civilization—such as widespread animal slaughter, economic hoarding, and the destruction of surplus food—are a gross misuse of God-given resources. A truly civilized and peaceful human being accepts the maxim of "plain living and high thinking," remaining completely satisfied with the natural quota God has provided.
Beyond physical necessities, God has given the human being advanced consciousness and superior intelligence. While animals act strictly according to instinct, humans have been given the unique capacity to understand the Absolute Truth. To facilitate this understanding, the Lord, in His incarnation as Vyāsadeva, has given the infallible knowledge of the Vedic literatures. He has given humanity dharma—the absolute codes and laws of religion that cannot be manufactured by mundane speculators. Just as a citizen must obey the laws of the state, a sane human being must obey the laws given by God in śāstra like the Bhagavad-gītā.
Ultimately, the most critical gift God has given is minute independence. The Lord does not force surrender; He gives the living entity the full freedom to choose their master. We can choose to act like Hiraṇyakaśipu and misuse our God-given intelligence, senses, and body for temporary material gratification, or we can use our God-given ears to hear the katha of Kṛṣṇa and our God-given hands to clap and chant the holy names. The secret to success in human life is voluntarily utilizing our God-given energy, intelligence, and independence exclusively to please the Supreme Lord, thereby solving all material problems and returning back to Godhead.
