Theme Analysis
Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the Yādavas are the eternal, pure devotees and intimate associates of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Because the Supreme Lord chose to take birth in the dynasty of Mahārāja Yadu to glorify His great devotee, the entire Yadu dynasty became famous for all time, and Kṛṣṇa Himself is affectionately addressed as Yādava. The Yādavas were always rapt in thought of Kṛṣṇa, enjoying unique and intimate relationships with Him as their master, advisor, friend, or family head. Although they were highly learned and uniquely privileged to associate with the Lord so closely, their cognition of Kṛṣṇa as the absolute Supreme Personality of Godhead was sometimes veiled by yoga-māyā—they often saw Him as the all-pervading Supersoul or their dearest relative. This intimate covering allowed for the sweetest exchanges of pure devotion, placing the Yādavas on the same exalted level as the Pāṇḍavas and Vidura.
- The Universal Fame of the Yadu Dynasty: Because the Supreme Personality of Godhead chose to descend into the family of Mahārāja Yadu, the entire dynasty attained eternal glory. Śrī Kṛṣṇa is universally celebrated by names such as Yādava and Yadunandana to honor this profound connection.
- Intimate Relationships with the Lord: The Yādavas were pure devotees who remained constantly absorbed in thoughts of Kṛṣṇa. They enjoyed unparalleled intimacy with the Lord, who interacted with them in various loving roles—from a master and advisor to a friend and beloved family member.
- The Sweetness of Partial Cognizance: Despite their vast erudition, the Yādavas often viewed Kṛṣṇa primarily as their dear relative or as the all-pervading Supersoul rather than the absolute Supreme Lord. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that this partial cognizance facilitated a sweeter, more intimate exchange of pure devotion.
- Distinction from Demons and Nondevotees: Unlike bewildered nondevotees and envious demons who considered Kṛṣṇa an ordinary human being, the Yādavas were pure, exalted souls. Because of their unalloyed devotion, they frequently faced persecution from demoniac kings, yet they remained fully protected by the Lord.

- Because Lord Krsna took birth in the Yadu dynasty, the Yadu dynasty and the Yadavas have remained famous for all time. Because of King Viraja's appearance, the family of Maharaja Priyavrata has remained famous for all time
- Both the Kauravas and the Yadavas were relatives of Vidura, and Vidura heard of their extinction due to fratricidal war
H
- He (Krsna) can be known only by one who has His mercy. The Yadavas were all exceptionally learned and experienced, but in spite of knowing the Lord as the one who lives in everyone's heart, they could not understand that He is the Personality of Godhead
- He (Krsna) had also glorified King Yadu, having taken His birth in the family. He is known as Yadava, Yaduvira, Yadunandana, etc., although the Lord is always independent of such obligation
I
- I have in the past addressed You as "O Krsna," "O Yadava," "O my friend," without knowing Your glories. Please forgive whatever I may have done in madness or in love. BG 11.41-42 - 1972
- In relationship with the Yadus and Pandavas, the Lord acted sometimes as their master, sometimes as their advisor, sometimes as their friend, sometimes as the head of their family and sometimes even as their servant
- In the Eleventh Chapter, after having seen the universal form, Arjuna tells Krsna - I have in the past addressed You as 'O Krsna,' 'O Yadava,' 'O my friend,' without knowing Your glories. Please forgive whatever I may have done in madness or in love

- Salva, one of the kings Krsna defeated when He kidnapped Rukmini, decided to rid the entire world of the Yadavas. To defeat the Yadavas, Salva worshiped Lord Siva, who rewarded him with an aerial car named Saubha
- Some of their relatives (of the Yadavas), however, began to follow Kamsa's principles and act in his service - SB 10.2.4-5

- The following Vaisnavas were present with Srila Rupa Gosvami: Sri Madhu Pandita, whose characteristics are all wonderful; Premi Krsnadasa; Krsnadasa Brahmacari; Yadava Acarya; the merciful Narayana; Sri Pundarikaksa Gosvami; and many others
- The Pandavas and the Yadavas were always rapt in the thought of Lord Krsna
- The Yadavas and other devotees of the Lord (Krsna) are different from those who wrongly calculated Him to be an ordinary human personality. Such persons are certainly bewildered by the illusory energy. They are hellish and are envious of the Supreme Lord
- The Yadavas and the Pandavas, who were always rapt in the thought of the Lord Krsna and His different transcendental activities, were all pure devotees of the Lord like Vidura
- The Yadavas were only partially cognizant of the Lord, but they are also glorious because they had the opportunity to associate with the Lord, who acted as the head of their family, and they also rendered the Lord intimate service
- The Yadavas who accompanied Krsna to Hastinapura were also very respectfully received; specifically, Satyaki, or Yuyudhana, was also offered a nice seat
- The Yadus, or the residents of Dvaraka, however, could know Lord Krsna as Vasudeva, or the Supersoul living everywhere, but not as the Supreme Lord
- There (in Krsna-sandarbha) are also descriptions of the Goloka planet, Vrndavana - the eternal place of Krsna, the identity of Goloka and Vrndavana, the Yadavas and the cowherd boys - both eternal associates of Krsna
- This lack of knowledge (knowing that Krsna is the Supersoul but not the Original Personality of Godhead) was not due to their (the Yadavas) insufficient erudition; it was due to their misfortune
